School of Engineering (SoE), Indrashil University (IU) offers PhD programme broadly in the areas of Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. It also includes allied engineering areas in the above fields. IU is a life science focused and research driven university. It believes in application oriented research. It is well equipped with all the state- of- the- art research equipments and software. It believes that full time dedicated research orientation can give the best output. Being mentored by the parent organization Cadila Pharma Limited, it has a great pool of intellectuals, experts and scientists in the area of life science. Engineering applications in life sciences are well motivated and need of the time. Dr Vishvjit Thakar has completed BE ( Electronics) with specialization in operating system from BVM
Engineering College, Sardar Patel University in 1991. He completed ME ( Electrical) with specialization in
Automatic Control and Robotics from The M S University of Baroda in 1996. He completed his Ph.D from IIT
Bombay in 2007. He has authored and co authored research papers in National and International journals. He
has published 3 books.
He has supervised 11 Ph.D students and co supervised 2 Ph.D students. He established collaborations with

Dr.Vishvjit Thakar research area is interdisciplinary in nature. He carried out research in sliding mode control. He carried out research in the area of Image Registration and AI and Machine Learning.
