Ph.D PROGRAMME
School of Engineering (SoE), Indrashil University (IU) offers PhD broadly in the areas of Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. It also includes the allied fields in respective engineering areas. IU is a life science focused and research driven university. It believes in application oriented research. It is well equipped with all the State –of- the- art research equipments and software. It believes that full time dedicated research orientation can give the best output. Being mentored by the parent organization Cadila Pharma Limited, it has a great pool of intellectuals, experts and scientists in the area of life science and engineering. Engineering applications in life sciences are well motivated and need of the time. Dedicated “Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation” lab is available for high end research work which includes range of HPLC, GC, Spectrophotometer, FTIR, IR, NMR etc. Computer labs are equipped with latest software which helps to carry out research work on industrial issues. Mechanical Engineering labs are well equipped with the research requirement on current industrial issues. A dedicated nodal office looks after the fellowship/grant for research projects being carried out from department of higher education/funding agencies.
School of Science (SoS) offers Ph D programs in Chemistry and Biosciences. It has seven R&D laboratories with excellent State-of -the-art infrastructure facilities in both Chemistry and Biosciences with highly qualified PhD supervisors from premiere Institutes with a vast Post Doc experience in research institutes of abroad. The research laboratories are equipped with high throughput scientific equipments as NMR. IU is the only university in Gujarat to have made available to research scholars and faculty, GC, HPLC, FTIR, IR, ELISA Reader, Thermal cycler etc. The cutting edge research areas in Chemistry are Total Organic Synthesis, peptides etc. whereas, Biosciences focuses on Microbiology and System Biology. In addition to these, the faculty also has several research projects funded by National and State Funding agencies as DST, GSBTM etc. The University believes that Research & Innovation will create a benchmark in the education system and hence equal emphasis is laid on research.
